Myocardial scintigraphy is an imaging technique that checks the blood supply to the heart muscle (myocardium). The scintigraphy belongs to the so-called non-invasive diagnostic techniques. Most often it is carried out in conjunction with a fatigue test. Fatigue testing is usually done on a treadmill or bicycle. In patients who for any reason cannot undergo physical exercise, fatigue is achieved with pharmacological agents such as dipyridamole, adenosine and dobutamine.
